5. Treasurer’s report: Gary circulated a written report. We have pledges of £350 from Luton Trades Council – £100, London and SE Unite branch (Jim/Rosie branch) – £100, Unite Luton Retired branch – £150. (Also now £100 pledged from Bedford/Kempston Labour party -bringing total to £450). Bank account should be open in a few weeks – with Triodos.

Couple of payments made (thanks Adrian and Jim) for room hire for meetings. Gary suggested we need to think about more fundraising – maybe getting people to do regular DDs (couple of quid a month). Annie Parker said she was happy to help Gary. Could consider a finance sub-committee for the future as money starts coming in.
Action: All to present to their local union branch, pensioner group, community organisation, political party branch and request donations. Evidence so far is that groups are willing to donate once they hear about the threats to the NHS and our campaign to save it.
